The Luka quality standard for mounted ventilation systems is airtightness class ATC3 (formerly C) and the Building Decree 2012 applies a maximum noise level of 30db(a). As a result, the airtightness and sound-dampening properties of ventilation systems play a decisive role in building specifications. Due to the rubber seal, a ventilation system made using KEN-LOK fittings is quiet and meets the requirements of airtightness class ATC2 (formerly class D). One level higher than the Luka standard.
The acceptable amount of air leakage is related to classes of airtightness. The test pressure used is derived from the NEN EN 1506 and 12237 standards.
Airtightness class ATC5 (formerly class A) has the most air leakage. Airtightness class ATC2 (formerly class D) has the least air leakage.
International airtightness classes ATC5 to ATC2 (formerly classes A to D)
Current class | Former class | Leakage factor | Max test pressure (Pa) |
ATC5 | A | 0.027 | 500 |
ATC4 | B | 0.009 | 1000 |
ATC3 | C | 0.003 | 1000 |
ATC2 | D | 0.001 | 2000 |
